This is Online Academic, a monthly newsletter and community helping researchers to build their profile, navigate social media and learn how to communicate their work online.

I'm Daniel. I've worked in the media industry as a journalist, in the creative sector designing websites, and now in Higher Education as a communication specialist. Throughout my career I've presented ideas in a way that demonstrate value and told stories that capture the imagination.

Whether you're new to academia as a PhD researcher or an experienced Professor looking to explore new ways to share your work, Online Academic is dedicated to helping you.

Why subscribe to Online Academic?

You're an expert in your field but it can be difficult to know where to begin when navigating the ever-changing world of social media, building websites, and producing media.

I produce easy to follow, step-by-step guides to help you build your presence online and with confidence.

Who is this for?

This is for the academic community. Although some guides are general information on how elements work, it is tailored for those who are in the research community—whether you're studying for a PhD, a seasoned Professor or running communications on behalf of a project.

When do you post?

Starting in March 2026, I'll post at least one guide a month.

You'll receive the latest edition in your inbox and you'll have access here whenever you need.

How much is it?

It's free.

Some content produced will be behind a paywall but on the whole, it's free.
